# Fashion by Sean Garschi: Not Bad, Huh? (2018)

Not Bad, Huh? is a shirt Sean Garschi designed and sold in 2018. A safety orange long sleeve printed with NOT BAD, HUH? FOR SOME IMMIGRANTS. across the chest and "IMMIGRANT" down the sleeve, it takes its name from Jay-Z's line on Otis and its quotation marks from Virgil Abloh.

## The line

Otis, from Watch the Throne by Jay-Z and Kanye West, closes a verse with the boast "not bad huh, for some immigrants." It is a brag, not a plea, from two men counting up what they built.

The shirt takes that boast off the record and prints it on a garment, so the wearer carries the line instead of quoting it.

## The design

A safety orange long sleeve with white type. The chest carries the line, small and centered: NOT BAD, HUH? FOR SOME IMMIGRANTS. One sleeve runs "IMMIGRANT" shoulder to cuff in outlined caps, the other carries a © 2018 mark.

The quotation marks follow Virgil Abloh, who used quotes at Off-White to label a thing with what everyone calls it while questioning the label. Here they wrap the word governments and headlines use to categorize a person.

## The release
