# Drop Page

Canonical: https://seangarschi.com/glossary/drop-page

**A single-purpose site built for a release moment.**

A drop page is a site built for a specific release, an album, a product, a collection, designed to convert a concentrated spike of attention into an owned audience. Its defining constraint is that it receives most of its lifetime traffic within about ninety minutes.

That constraint inverts normal engineering priorities: everything static, everything on an edge network, no origin request in the critical path, and a degradation path that shows something rather than nothing under extreme load.
