# Knowledge Graph

Canonical: https://seangarschi.com/glossary/knowledge-graph

**A search engine's database of things and how they relate.**

A knowledge graph is a structured database of entities, people, organizations, places, works, and the relationships between them. Search engines and language models use it to understand that a query refers to a specific thing rather than a string of characters.

You influence what a knowledge graph holds about you through structured data, consistent descriptions, authoritative profiles, and mentions on sources the graph already trusts. You do not edit it directly, and changes take weeks to propagate.
