# Creative Direction

**Direction**

Creative direction is deciding what the moment is before deciding what the assets are: the concept a release or campaign hangs on, the visual world around it, and the direction of the photographers, designers, and builders who execute it.

Every campaign that lands is one idea executed in every format, not many ideas executed once. Creative direction is picking that idea and holding it through photography, design, film, and the interactive layer.

## Outcomes

- One concept that reads the same everywhere
- A visual world, not a folder of assets
- Photographers, designers, and builders pointed at the same thing
- A release that feels like an event rather than a post

## Included

- **Concept**: The single idea, written in a sentence, defensible in a room.
- **Visual world**: References, art direction, casting, locations, and formats.
- **Team direction**: Briefing and directing photo, video, design, and build.
- **The moment**: How it drops: sequencing, formats, and the interactive layer where it earns one.

## Process

1. **Concept**: Find the idea. Kill the other ideas.
2. **World**: Build the visual language around it.
3. **Direct**: Run the shoots and the builds against the concept.
4. **Drop**: Sequence the release so the moment compounds.

## FAQ

**What does a creative director actually deliver?**

The concept, the visual world, the briefs, and the final call on what ships. The individual assets come from the photographers, designers, and developers being directed, some of whom are also me.

**Do you direct projects you do not build?**

Yes. Direction-only engagements work when the executing team is strong; the concept and the quality bar are the deliverable.
