# Artist Drop Systems

Canonical: https://seangarschi.com/work/artist-drop-systems

Client: Artists, labels, and management. Type: Systems. Year: 2025. Role: Architecture, Engineering. Stack: Next.js, Edge hosting, SMS/email capture.

A drop system is reusable release infrastructure, the page, the capture, the queue, and the hosting, so that an artist's next announcement takes days to ship instead of restarting from zero every cycle.

Most release sites are rebuilt from scratch every time, which is why they ship late and break under load. Building it once as a system fixes both.

## What repeats

Across releases, roughly eighty percent of the work is identical: capture, countdown, geo-aware links, merch handoff, spike hosting, analytics. Only the creative layer genuinely changes.

Separating the two means the creative gets the full timeline and the infrastructure gets none of it.

## Owning the audience

Every drop should end with more owned contacts than it started with. Streaming platforms rent you an audience; an email and phone list is the only version you keep across label deals, platform changes, and algorithm shifts.
