What is Astroworld, Unofficial Cover?
The unofficial Astroworld cover is a self-initiated design direction Sean Garschi made before the official artwork was public. He shared it with Travis Scott's team, then published it himself, and it circulated as the unofficial cover until the official David LaChapelle artwork was released.

Made without a brief
Nobody commissioned this. The record had been announced with no artwork yet, so the direction was worked up unprompted and sent to Travis Scott's team, who showed interest.
What happened after
Rather than staying in a folder, it went up publicly. It spread on its own and was reposted and used as the unofficial Astroworld cover in the gap before the official artwork arrived.
The official cover is David LaChapelle's photograph. This one filled the gap and then stopped, which is as long as an unofficial cover gets.
Why it is here
Spec work usually stays private and dies there. Publishing it is what turned a direction nobody asked for into something a lot of people saw.
